Lorisa owns her own health coaching practice where she helps high achieving women transform mind and body to increase energy, create balance and optimize performance through plant based nutrition & mindset.
Increasing Productivity for High Achieving Entrepreneurs
Prior to becoming a full time entrepreneur, Lorisa Leigh was a nurse for 9 years. During the 9 years of her being a nurse, Lorisa built up her knowledge, experience and credibility in the health field. Having a first hand at patients experiencing critical health conditions and knowing what causes it, Lorisa knew she wanted to change her lifestyle to a completely healthy diet.
Transitioning into a healthy diet can be very challenging. Lorisa tells why her transition was not as hard as you may think it is. During this podcast interview, Lorisa announces the main reasons behind her transition. One being meeting her husband, who already lived the vegan lifestyle. Another reason was the tragic experience of getting rare cancer in her left knee. During this time of a sickness, Lorisa tells the audience that she began to do intensive research and the real reason for her transition was reading the book: The China Study . This book shifted the perspective of how she was living and the patients she was helping at the time encouraging her to help others more, especially those in critical conditions.
Moving on, Lorisa was able to take a huge jump into her entrepreneurship after realizing she wanted to be more than just a “nurse” and wanted to commit her time to shining light on others.
One of the main factors that increased her productivity for achieving her entrepreneurial goals was changing her lifestyle, diet and mindset.
How did you transform your health experience into a business?
With social media drastically changing the business game, Lorisa used her social media platforms to get her message about health facts to surface.
“I started out with writing blog posts then I had to get comfortable in front of the camera and after that i was able to produce video content” – Lorisa Leigh
After gaining a presence on social media and building a large audience, Lorisa was not quite ready for the business “life” simply because she was accustomed to her career in nursing. Having no experience in the business field, Lorisa hired a coach to oversee and to help guide her entrepreneur path. “Each part of your journey is different, having a mentor showed me the ropes”. Eventually Lorisa became a full time entrepreneur after her business grew tremendously and became very time consuming. “When i realized i can make what i make in a week in a hour…it was my time to go.”
